A study of the average person retiring in 2011 reveals that just 2 in 5 expect a 'comfortable' retirement (39%) and that men are more optimistic than women, with 48% of males believing they have saved enough compared to just 30% of women. Lesley Collins, CEO of Independent Women, comments "A woman's investment and risk profile can be affected dramatically by major life changes such as marriage, divorce, the birth of a child or death of a spouse. Coupled with greater chance of interrupted working patterns due to child or other dependent care, it is absolutely crucial that women seek expert advice as to how they can maximise their provision for the future". Independent Women specialises in pensions and investment advice, along with a full range of financial service planning.
